Jenks Northwest Elementary Lockdown, Lockdown – School officials said that on Thursday, Jenks West Intermediate School’s personnel went into a precautionary lockdown. They took these measures in response to a student’s threat. Administrators and campus police interrogated the minor following staff members’ reports of hearing the threat. The officials stated that they had concluded that the threat did not have any merit. Staff workers reported hearing the threat, prompting the rapid questioning of the kid.
The twenty minutes that followed the twenty-minute period of precautionary lockdown at West Intermediate were eventually removed. West Elementary School and West Elementary were both placed on precautionary lockdown due to their close proximity to one another. One Jenks parent, Clay Streater, came clean about discussing the subject with his daughter. “I know there are a lot of copy cats right now with everything going around in the world, you can’t be too safe, but on the other hand, you can’t live your life through fear,” he commented.
This specific threat is only one of many that have been leveled at Green Country schools in recent weeks. On Wednesday, students at Hilldale and Drumright schools faced dangers that were unique to their neighborhoods. A Pawhuska substitute teacher was arrested last week for allegedly threatening the life of one pupil. The pupil was the target of the intimidation. The student would still face disciplinary action, according to school officials, even though Jenks’s threat was found to be unfounded.
