Marci Miller Upset Abigail Killed Off, Says DOOL Shouldve Recast ·

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers indicate that Marci Miller said DOOL should’ve recast Abigail DiMera and revealed she had no plans to return in 2023. In a new SOD interview, Miller opened up about why she left and how she believes the situation should’ve been handled.
Since Miller was ready to spread her wings with some other projects, she offered to drop down to recurring and continue working at Days.
That didn’t work for the show, so they tried to explore some other options and ultimately couldn’t reach an agreement.
In the end, Miller learned Abigail would be killed off – a decision that caught her by surprise and left her wishing they had gone in a different direction.
“I totally expected them to recast,” Miller admitted. “That’s what I really thought would happen, and that’s what I thought they should have done.”
Although Miller suggested she’d like to keep playing Abigail from a “selfish standpoint,” she was thinking of Billy Flynn (Chad DiMera) and all the “Chabby” fans with this recast support.
Miller felt like the fair thing would be to bring a new Abigail in on contract for a few years.
That’s obviously not the route Days took – and Miller acknowledged that she understood the show’s decision.
Even so, Abigail is a legacy character and someone Miller clearly believes added value to the canvas.
As for what the future holds, Miller talked about the lack of permanence when it comes to deaths in Salem and suggested “never say never” when it comes to her return.
That said, Miller revealed she isn’t planning on coming back next year.
Although it would depend on whatever else Miller has going on, it sounds like she’s closed her Days chapter for now and is ready to do some other things.
Some viewers are on board with the murder mystery and the fallout, but others agree with Miller and feel a new Abigail should’ve taken her place.
